Minimalist maple kitchen with floating shelves

MAPLE KITCHEN

This kitchen was part of a total renovation for a lovely family that had just moved to the Hudson Valley from the Pacific Northwest. They wanted to combine the natural essence of their old home with a Japanese and Scandinavian inspired aesthetic. She is also a potter and an artist, and so the design process was very collaborative! We worked together to establish a layout that included things such as the pass through to the dining room and the window placement around the hood surround. The contractors, EZ-Flow Innovations, helped to nail these important details. We also customized the microwave enclosure (that was a first for us!) and there are appliances hiding within the towers. Overall, the space feels so peaceful and light filled. We hope more people want to build things out of maple, as it’s beauty speaks for itself!
