WALNUT MODERN KITCHEN
We collaborated with Elizabeth Strianese Interiors to build a furniture inspired walnut kitchen. The grain runs horizontally and “legs” separate different sections which make it less like typical cabinetry. Overall, the look is serene and modern.
The homeowner really wanted a soffit detail that was inspired by his old 70s kitchen to keep the scale of the kitchen more intimate. We reimagined it clad with walnut and with a small fry reglet detail around the edges for the transition to the drywall. We put in a false panel for the contractor to use as a guide for the drywall installation, and then we replaced it with the walnut and added cut outs for LED lighting. It was a process you don’t see, but the end result was worth it!
